FAITH & SCIENCE
Contrary to what many believe
faith IS based on evidence, substance, and things which are clearly seen: Romans 1:20- "For the invisible things of Him
from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power; so
that they are left without excuse".
Many scientific discoveries are made in exactly this way: atoms, bacteria,
cells, etc. none of which can be seen by the naked eye, were discovered by examining things which are seen.
Hebrews
11:1,3: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for [hypothesis] and the evidence [experiment] of things not seen. "Through
faith we understood that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things
which do appear. Faith and an hypothesis are merely similar terms for basing a preliminary outcome on preliminary evidence.
The major difference between the two is that true faith is also accompanied by the Holy Spirit who testifies to the righteous
individual as to the validity of his or her faith. John 16:13- "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will
guide you into all truth." [Also, see John 7:17].
